Twitter Starts Launching Contributors Feature to Users

Post date: 2022-05-07 Category: Marketing

A few months ago, we wrote about Twitter's plans to release a new feature called Contributors .  The new feature would allow multiple users to tweet from a single account, for instance, your company's corporately branded Twitter account. Twitter announced they would be beta testing the new feature to a limited number of users for a while.

Well, it looks like the time has arrived!  A couple of days ago, Twitter started rolling out the new feature to users, with Salesforce being one of them .  While @HubSpot is not yet one of the lucky few to receive this new feature, we can already appreciate some of its business advantages.

Benefits of Twitter Contributors Feature for Businesses:

  1. No need to choose between a personal & a company account
  2. Motivation for multiple people to contribute to a company Twitter account
  3. Increased transparency
  4. Opportunity to build a company brand through individual contributions
  5. Fully supported functionality by Twitter API, which will enhance Twitter business apps like CoTweet and Hootsuite

For a more elaborate explanation of these advantages, refer to our previous article about the business benefits of Contributors .

TechCrunch speculates that Contributors is part of Twitter's plan to give premium features to businesses.  What Twitter did reveal was that the Contributors feature is one of several in development, and that some of them will be visible to regular users and some of them won't.  We're still awaiting an official announcement of the roll-out from Twitter.  Until then, get excited for the increased business functionality of Twitter !
